Amy (Amira) is a Trauma-Informed Women Counsellor, holding a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. She has worked as a Psychotherapist specializing in supporting survivors of physical abuse, sexual assault, PTSD, human trafficking, and various other traumas. With a compassionate and person-centred approach, she believes in creating safe and non-judgmental space for individuals. She uses variety of therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). With her experience in the health field, she has cultivated a deep understanding of trauma’s impact on mental health. Her passion for mental health advocacy and empowerment drew her to the field, where she is committed to providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care through her own practice – Empathetic Counselling.
