Along with this Packapill launched an on-demand health services app endorsed by national pharmacy chains. Packapill’s telehealth feature has seen remarkable demand from Australians seeking GP support, according to Packapill Co-founder Lenin Rajendran. During the initial month-long trial, the app’s “consult” feature saw 4000 patient calls being made, with scripts being dispensed by the partner pharmacies.

“Through our new GP Consult feature in partnership with Western Diagnostics Pathology, the Packapill app facilitated over 4,000 patient consultations with available GPs Australia-wide in its initial trial month. Each patient had to wait an average of 3.9 minutes to be connected – that’s unheard of within a practice environment.” Said Lenin Rajendran. “Packapill is dedicated to closing the accessibility gap to health services within Australia. Our app began with on-demand delivery of pharmaceutical products in less than three hours and is now extending to all realms of patient care to support the growing needs of Australians,” Mr Rajendran said. Packapill doesn’t just assist patients with on-demand services; it also supports industry practitioners and local pharmacy owners. Pharmacies can join as Packapill suppliers, expanding their customer base effectively. This positions the app as a new sales channel for both prescription and non-prescription products. Prescriptions and e-scripts are securely managed through an encrypted script upload feature. Additionally, the app includes an integration for managing scripts for family members who may not be able to use the app, such as the elderly or vulnerable. Along with these services, telehealth medical certificates and online GP referrals, mental health care plans are also available. With its rapidly growing network of community pharmacies, Packapill is poised to become one of Australia’s largest on-demand medtech platforms, offering access to over 200 local pharmacies nationwide.
