If you are looking for a medical certificate for school you must be 16 years or older to apply. If you are younger than 16, you’ll need to have a telehealth consult with a Hola Health doctor.
Many universities will only accept a medical certificate if provided by an AHPRA registered medical practitioner and some may not accept a certificate from a pharmacist. It is also important to understand what your place of education requires on the certificate, which often includes the date of the review, the name and signature of the consulting practitioner and the fact that they have deemed you ‘not fit for duty’
If you require a leave certificate for more than a single day you will need a telehealth video consult with a Hola Health GP. Our doctors can issue medical certificates for up to 7 days of leave.

Online medical certificates are leave certificates issued on the basis of medical conditions reported by a patient to a medical practitioner through an online form rather than in-person. An online medical certificate is issued once the form is reviewed, and reported medical conditions are accepted, by an accredited Australian medical practitioner.
Whilst a medical certificate is a legal document, some schools and universities have their own specific policies and requirements. It’s important that you check with your school or university for their guidelines.
Hola Health Doctors cannot provide medical clearance certificates for any reason.
Medical certificates are legitimate legal documents. However, some employers may have specific rules in their sick/leave policy guidelines around specific requests for an in-person appointment to have occurred. Please check your employers personal leave policy guidelines.
Online Medical Certificates are legal documents that are reviewed and issued by Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) accredited medical practitioners. Medical certificates can be issued based on medical conditions observed by the practitioner or reported by the patient.
