Can I get my prescription online bulk-billed under Medicare?

4. Get the script – If suitable, you will get your script instantly via SMS. Simply take it to your local pharmacy for dispensing.

Who is eligible for bulk billing?

For bulk-billed* services, your Medicare card is utilised to process the payment, and there are no charges at the point of service. You may qualify for bulk billing* if you:

• Possess a valid Medicare card. 
• Request during bulk billing* hours.

How are scripts filled?

The digital script can then be filled at your neighbourhood pharmacy. The script includes a QR code that the chemist scans to dispense. There is no need for a printed version of the script.

Will I have to pay for my medication at the pharmacy?

Yes, in most situations. Although your consultation or prescription may be bulk billed*, the medication’s cost is separate and can vary based on whether it is included in the PBS  (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme).
