If you need an imaging scan, a Hola Health doctor can provide a referral letter during a video consult if clinically appropriate. You can then take this letter to any radiology clinic in Australia.
How it works:
- Video call with a registered GP: Speak with a Hola Health doctor online, typically within 15 minutes (Based on typical wait times; may vary by demand and practitioner availability), once you submit your request.
- Describe your symptoms: Tell the doctor why you need a scan.
- Receive your referral: If a scan is clinically appropriate, your practitioner will email the referral to you shortly after your consultation.
- Visit a clinic: Take the digital referral to any radiology centre. The imaging centre may charge a “gap fee” depending on their own pricing and your Medicare status.
Hola Health telehealth GPs are available 24/7.

Clinical note: A telehealth GP will assess if a scan is medically necessary. While online consults are convenient, an in-person exam is the best way to check for physical injuries or lumps. Referrals are provided at the doctor’s discretion. Your assessment depends on the symptoms you describe. If you have severe trauma, a possible spinal injury, or loss of limb function, call 000 immediately.
