When is after hours GP NOT bulk billed with Hola Health?

• You don’t hold a Medicare card. Overseas visitors, some temporary residents, and new arrivals who haven’t yet registered for Medicare will generally need to pay the full cost upfront.
• You’re requesting other clinical services. Hola Health provides bulk billing after-hours GP service in general consults, urgent care and scripts. Other services like medical certificates and referrals are not covered under bulk billing.
• You’re requesting at non-bulk-billing hours. Hola Health after-hours bulk billing is available at set times; outside of those hours, private billing applies.

When should you go to the Emergency instead?

An after-hours GP — whether in person or via telehealth — is suitable for non-urgent medical concerns. However, some situations require immediate emergency care. Call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department if you or someone else is experiencing:

• Chest pain or suspected heart attack
• Difficulty breathing
• Signs of a stroke, such as facial drooping, arm weakness, or slurred speech
• Severe bleeding, seizures, serious burns, or major injury
• A sudden, severe headache unlike any you’ve had before
• A severe allergic reaction
• Suicidal thoughts or a mental health crisis where immediate safety is a concern
