Yes. If you have a cold or the flu and can’t attend work, school, or university, Hola Health can provide an online medical certificate after the clinician’s assessment.
Colds and influenza can cause symptoms such as a sore throat, fever, cough, fatigue, congestion, body aches, and headaches. Resting at home can help you recover while reducing the risk of spreading the infection to others. During your telehealth assessment, an AHPRA-registered doctor or nurse practitioner will review your symptoms and medical history. If clinically appropriate, they can issue a same-day medical certificate online.
Important: Telehealth is not suitable for medical emergencies. If you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, confusion, or a persistently high fever, call 000 immediately or go to your nearest emergency department.
Yes. Under the Fair Work Act, employers can ask for evidence, including 1 day or less, and medical certificates are acceptable evidence. Employers, schools and universities may have their own evidence requirements, so the patient should check with them first.
If you’ve recently received a flu vaccine and are dealing with expected side effects like fatigue, a slight fever, or body aches and need some time to rest, an online doctor or a practitioner can assess your symptoms and issue a medical certificate if suitable.
