Considerations:

When you can’t get one over the phone
There are specific situations where a doctor will require you to go to a physical clinic:

- Backdating: Australian doctors are legally and ethically restricted from “backdating” certificates. They can generally only certify that you are unfit for work from the day they actually spoke to you.
