For multiple days, you will connect with a medical practitioner via video. This is a standard medical consultation. They will assess your condition, your history, and determine if you are unfit for work or study.
3. Receive your certificate
If the doctor or medical practitioner deems it clinically appropriate, they will issue your medical certificate, sent directly to your inbox as a secure PDF. You can then email this directly to your HR department or university administration.

Considerations:

When you can’t get one over the phone
There are specific situations where a doctor will require you to go to a physical clinic:

- Backdating: Australian doctors are legally and ethically restricted from “backdating” certificates. They can generally only certify that you are unfit for work from the day they actually spoke to you.
