Do I need to disclose my diagnosis on the certificate?

No, it is not required to disclose a patient’s specific diagnosis on a medical certificate when issued online or via in-person consultation. To protect patients’ privacy, most certificates will state “unfit to work” with the dates. The workplaces or employers typically cannot demand to know the nature of the employee’s illness.
