What medicines can’t be prescribed by Hola GPs?

The provision of any prescriptions is at the discretion of the doctor. Hola Health AHPRA-registered practitioners will assess what is clinically appropriate for you during your telehealth consult. Hola Health practitioners are unable to prescribe controlled drugs (Schedule 8) or drugs of dependence (Schedule 4D).

Controlled medications, and why Hola doesn’t prescribe them online

Some medicines need closer monitoring because of a higher risk of dependency or side effects. For safety and to follow Australian rules, these usually can’t be prescribed through an online consultation. Some need a physical exam, ongoing monitoring, or extra medical information first. Because of this, doctors may recommend seeing them in person before prescribing or continuing these medicines.

Have a telehealth appointment with a doctor online to talk it through. Don’t stop taking a prescribed medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
