Do I need a Medicare card to use Hola services?

Yes, you only need a Medicare card if you want to access Hola's Medicare bulk-billed services. If you don’t have Medicare, you can still use Hola Health—you’ll just pay a standard fee for the service you choose.    

Why do you need a Medicare card?  

We need your Medicare number to check your eligibility for bulk billing and to process your claim. This allows us to bill Medicare directly, so you don’t have out-of-pocket costs for eligible services.  Your details are kept secure and only used for verification and claiming purposes.  

A valid Medicare or IHI number is required for

Generally, if you have a Medicare card number, you will have an IHI; however, you can have an IHI without a Medicare card.  

What if I do not have a Medicare card?  

If you do not have a valid Medicare card, you may obtain an Individual Health Identifier (IHI) via Individual Healthcare Identifiers – Services Australia.
