Is a medical certificate guaranteed?

No. The provision of a certificate is at the discretion of the consulting doctor. A healthcare provider must first assess the request and determine if there is medical justification for issuing one. An AHPRA-registered Hola Health practitioner may decline to issue a certificate if:

• They don’t find sufficient medical evidence to support the claim  
• The request is for a backdated period   
• The reason for the absence does not meet the requirements for certification.
