What is included in a Hola medical certificate?

Like the medical certificate issued in clinics by the local GP, Hola medical certificates include 

• Patient name 

• Doctor details include name and AHPRA registration number. 

• Dates on which the patient was unable to attend work or study 

• The date on which the certificate is issued 

• The medical practitioner’s electronic signature 

• Hola company details, address, contact, ABN number 

Do I need to disclose my diagnosis on the certificate?

No, it is not required to disclose a patient’s specific diagnosis on a medical certificate when issued online or via in-person consultation. To protect patients’ privacy, most certificates will state “unfit to work” with the dates. The workplaces or employers typically cannot demand to know the nature of the employee’s illness. It is, however, recommended to get a full idea about these policies at your workplace.
