Mental Health Line (NSW)
When to use
Mental health concerns can escalate quickly. Panic, persistent sadness, distress, or feeling overwhelmed may require urgent support. This service supports children, teenagers, adults, and older people across NSW.

The NSW Mental Health Line is available to people of all ages across New South Wales.

Call 1800 011 511. Call 000 first if it's life threatening.
Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs)
What is it
Walk-in clinics help manage sudden, non-critical issues when speed matters but the situation is not life-threatening. They often stay open longer than standard GP clinics, and appointments are usually not required.
What are my options in NSW
Start by visiting the Medicare UCC website. You can search for the nearest clinic in Sydney or NSW using their official tool at health.gov.au/MedicareUCC Sydney often sees choices near Northern Sydney, along with different suburbs based on present situations. Sometimes things shift, so always look up the latest version first just in case.
When to use
Things such as minor infections, coughs or colds, gastro issues, sprains, cuts requiring dressings, small burns, back discomfort. Right off, they tell you: no calls for chest pain, stroke signs, or difficulty breathing - they should all go to 000/ED.
Cost
Medicare UCCs - they’re built for bulk billing when urgent care is needed (bring your Medicare details).

Hours differ at each clinic - some stay open seven days a week, offering extra time slots.
